There
are not only many people in America, there are also specific generations that
make up those people. It is the passing on of ideas and values from one
generations to another that common held beliefs stand the test of time.
According to Pew Research, “The share of U.S. adults who say they
believe in God… slipped
to 89 percent in 2014 from 92 percent in 2007.”
Even more shocking,
the report continues, “The proportion of Americans who say they
are "absolutely certain" God exists fell even more, to 63 percent in
2014 from 71 percent in 2007.” Another perspective of that reality is
that 29% of Americans do not fully believe that God exists. Now you can see why
the culture is moving in the direction that it is. In addition, “The
trend is most pronounced among young adults, with only half of those born from
1990 to 1996 absolutely certain of their belief in God, compared to 71 percent
of the "silent generation," or those born from 1928 to 1945.” If
a generation is being deemed as the “silent generation”, that means we are not
telling others about the Gospel, we are not telling others who Jesus Christ is.
If we do not pass on the truths and love of who Jesus is, if we do not live out
our lives with Christian principles, is it any surprise that they do not
